Great meeting and some delicious eating!

CACHE researcher, Kirsikka, reports on her time at the Sven Lovén research station:

“Recently, I (and my CACHE colleague Alex)  attended the Centre for Marine Evolutionary Biology (CeMEB) assembly at Sven Lovén research station at Tjärnö:

The theme was ‘Applications of Evolutionary Biology in the Marine Environment‘. Though evolutionary biology is not really my field of research, I found the meeting really interesting, especially the group discussions on different topics such as invasive species and using cultivated species to support stock production. And there was some shellfish aspects too, as we got to listen to a talk about using doubled haploid Pacific oyster techniques and applications. Unfortunately, we didn’t get to accomplish our shellfish eating mission, though the food otherwise was very good. I saw some bivalves from distance though!”
