There is a vacancy for a position as researcher at the Department of Biology within the field of molecular physiology and immunology. The position is for a period of 3 years and is linked to the project “Immunosuppression of aquaglyceroporins in salmon lice”, funded by the Research council of Norway.
The successful applicant will join a team of European scientists engaged in investigating the molecular physiology of the salmon louse in relation to the immune response of its host. The main focus will be on the physiological and cellular control of transmembrane proteins involved in water and nutrient transport. Methodological emphasis will be placed on the molecular physiology of protein function, membrane trafficking and immunity. A research stay at CSIC, Barcelona, Spain is associated with the position.
Qualifications and personal qualities
The applicant must have achieved a Norwegian PhD or an equivalent degree within molecular/cell biology or immunology or
other relevant field. It is a prerequisite that the applicant can document experience in gene cloning, expression profiling and other molecular biology techniques. Documented work experience on the molecular physiology of membrane channels will be considered advantageous. The applicant must be able to work independently and in a structured manner and to demonstrate good collaborative skills The applicant must have a great capacity for work and enthusiasm for researchThe applicant must be proficient in both written and oral English
We can offer a good and professionally challenging working environment salary at pay grade 57 (code 1109) in the state salary scale. This currently amounts to salary of NOK 489 300 gross p.a.
